The article also emphasizes his academic history (turned down from Stanford and Berkley), and perhaps being excluded from the elite programs gives him a stronger desire to spread information? As for everyone else? Maybe they simply believe it will decrease attendance because people will rely on online lectures as substitutes. Remember Leeson in 385?
